October is Black History Month and we (at the NHM) are celebrating the contributions of Black people to the science of natural history, past and present.
We know that there is a lot of pressure on teachers now more than ever and that visiting the Museum with your class isn’t a priority. We are working on making your school visit as safe as possible, for you and other visitors. Stay tuned for updates and please email [email protected] if you have any questions.
In the meantime, why not visit the Museum virtually with a self-guided tour of the galleries, or use our free learning resources such as those to explore urban nature and the issues affecting your local environment.

The stories and outstanding achievements of Black scientists, whose talents often lie at the heart of the Museum’s collections, have frequently been overlooked in history books. We are sharing stories and highlighting contemporary contributions that Black scientists are making to our understanding of nature and natural history. |
